How to apply for an Australia Awards scholarship

Preparing for Your Application:

Begin by confirming the opening and closing dates for applications in your country. Additionally, select your country of citizenship or residency from the list of participating countries to access specific information regarding eligibility requirements, priority areas, and application procedures. Before you start your application, it’s crucial to thoroughly review the Australia Awards Scholarships Policy Handbook. This comprehensive resource outlines general eligibility requirements, the selection process, entitlements, and responsibilities. Keep in mind that the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade reserves the right to revise and update the handbook at any time without prior notice.

Different countries offer different application methods. Some may allow and encourage online applications, while others may require hard-copy submissions. For detailed instructions, consult your country’s profile.

Online Application Process:

Refer to your country’s profile to find the link to the online application portal. It’s important to note that countries like Indonesia and the Philippines utilize a different system, not the Online Australia Scholarships Information System (OASIS). For these countries, you can find the application link in their respective Country Profile.

During the online registration process, you’ll need to answer a series of questions to determine your eligibility. Once completed, you’ll receive a unique registration number, username, and password.

Don’t feel pressured to submit your application right away. You have the option to create a draft application form and update it, along with your supporting documents, until the designated closing date specified in your country’s profile.

Once you submit your application, it cannot be altered. Therefore, we strongly advise applicants to complete their online submissions well before the deadline. Keep in mind that OASIS experiences high traffic in the days leading up to the closing date, which may cause delays in processing.
